New this month:
What is there to do in Augusta?
I used to hear this question over and over again, mostly from clients who were moving to Augusta GA from other states. Usually it went something like this…
Client: Are there any good places to run?
Me: You should definitely check out the towpath at the Augusta Canal or the Greeneway just over the river in North Augusta.Client: What about parks? The weather is going to be great and I’d love to find a place for the kids to play and have a picnic lunch.
Me: Columbia County has a couple of great parks. The park behind the library in Evans has several pavilions with picnic tables, a pond with a walking trail, playgrounds and a splash pad. There’s also the Trails at Euchee Creek in Grovetown with walking trails, picnic tables and a pond. Blanchard Woods park in Evans has a playground and pavilion (not to mention the great cross country course). Brookfield Park has a great splash pad, playground, pavilion with picnic tables and a walking path.Client: Where’s the best place to get pizza in Augusta?
Me: My personal favorite is Pizza Joint, but Yo Pizza, Giuseppe’s, Pizza Central and Mellow Mushroom are great, too.
Anyway, you get the picture. After answering these types of questions so many times, I decided it would be a great place to have all the answers in one place, and 365 Things to Do in Augusta was born.
There are a couple of things you should probably know if you’re reading this:
